Architecture project from concept to realization
The project involves the construction of two new villas on sloped site in the town of Přibyšice. Municipal regulations require a double-pitched roof and a maximum of 1.5 above-ground levels. Rather than seeing these constraints as limitations, we embraced them as an opportunity to reinterpret the traditional typology of Czech rural houses - characterized by simple rectangular volumes and beautifully crafted, complex roof structures.
The concept is based on two simple elements:
- two stacked glass boxes, shifted to follow the natural slope of the terrain and to separate day and night areas;
- one aerial roof, detached from the volumes below, with an exposed structure that frames views of the surrounding trees.
The aim is to create an architecture that responds poetically to the natural context - through the reflections of the glass surfaces and the permeability of the roof.
