The project site is in a spectacular and strategic location: a waterfront, and a crossroad between different contexts like parks, mountain, and cityscape. Therefore, our main goal is to design an opera house that can be a scenography itself for the surronding, in a different way according to their characteristics. 'Give the floor' to the city-theatre and not just 'be' or 'leave': The Temple and Scenography of Theatre-City, to offer an “experience” - not just a spectacle - throughout the internal halls. Build a fertile scenography for the city environment that can enhance its drama. The building is a theatre itself: it is composed by three main volumes-as-platforms linearly distributed along the site - from north to south - which allow a longitudinal movement and view towards the ocean. These are covered by a big roof that gives uniformity to the intervention, protects interiors from sun and rain, and contributes in defining hierarchies and characters of the spaces underneath. The project must answer to two different fundamental needs: listening to music – ear – and contemplation of the landscape – eye. The former dialogues more with the ground (effective acoustic and accessibility) which has been sculptured providing complex sections for the theatres caves. The latter dialogues more with the horizon, parks, and ocean as it allows long continuous views and circulation. The outdoor spaces are physical manifestations of the concept of empty spaces, where as paltforms create terraces to enjoy the cultural offerings or being in nature, the courtyards provide a contemplative void experience. The idea continues to house a variety of cultural facilities and a multitude of arts events. Upon entering, the visitor has the choice of following the path of terraces/ platforms cascading down to the sea , or descending to the courts which provide access to the majority of the cultural facilities.
