Experimental Theatre for "La Scala", 2022
Via Rubattino, Milan (Italy) – Cultural
Architecture project in collaboration with arch. Advicka Singh, arch. Amrita Batra

The project starts from the actual need of “La Scala di Milano” to expand its laboratories and build an experimental theatre which can approach younger people and address more social issues. The chosen site for the new intervention is Rubattino district, an important industrial centre in the 1950s, now a marginal and abandoned land between historical city and commercial citadel. The only traces left visible in the site are the fascinating structure of the Innocenti shed - now in a state of ruin - and the settlement rule made of longitudinal buildings one next to each other north-south. The project makes the site a big public park, the Innocenti shed the scenic laboratory, and the footprint of a recent manufacturing building, the new experimental theatre.
